Staying Cozy This Winter Thanks to the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions

November 12, 2020

We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Members of the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club for the Club’s kind donation of $1,000 to KinVillage’s West Court Care Home.

As we have done in recent years, we have once again used the Lions’ gift to enhance the furnishings in our care home. We recently purchased a new electric fireplace for the corner lounge on the 2nd floor. This is an area enjoyed by residents and the fireplace contributes to making it a more warm and welcoming space.

Our new fireplace looked terrific decked out for Halloween and we are looking forward to makIng this area the centrepiece of our Christmas decor!

The Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club has provided $2,000 to Beach Grove Elementary to help with the school’s playground improvement efforts. A major section of the playground was destroyed by fire in the spring of 2020. Parts and pieces of the new structure have finally arrived and the installation will soon be completed. On Wednesday May 27, 2020, the service clubs of Tsawwassen and Ladner, under the direction of the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club, joined together in a parade to show our respect and appreciation for the health care workers and first responders of the Delta Hospital, Delta Police Department, Delta Fire Rescue, Mountain View Manor Long Term Care and the BC Ambulance Service. A very colourful assemblage of 45 vehicles of the Tsawwassen Boundary Bay Lions Club, Rotary Club of Tsawwassen, Rotary Club of Ladner, Tsawwassen Order of Old Bastards, Kinsmen Club of Ladner-Tsawwassen plus some out of town guests, formed up in the Delta Gymnastics parking lot. It was great to get some “socializing at a distance”. Prize for best dressed certainly goes to Roberta and Beth in their electric blue PT Cruiser. They were also the first ones to arrive and the last ones to leave. Party animals! Delta Fire Rescue kindly provided the on-duty crew and fire truck to lead our procession. Just in case our leader got called away, Brian Coe followed closely behind in his bright yellow vintage fire truck. At 7 PM, precisely, the parade got underway with lights, sirens and lots of honking and cheering. Thanks to all the participants, waving spectators and mostly our health care providers and First Responders.
