Feb. 19/19 Regular Meeting Minutes 

Roll call - there were a total of 15 members present , therefore we did not have a quorum. Present : Allan Calderwood, Beth Carr-Hilton, Kim Carswell, Laura Clarke,

Marilyn Elford, Murray Hastings, Peter Hay, Gary Keller, Rick Marks, Roger Lasell, Terry McBratney , Bob McTavish, Don Moore, Harry Siempelkamp, David Smith  

Previous meeting minutes - moved Lion Kim , seconded Rick Marks - carried 

Correspondence  - SDSS DRY GRAD - letter of thanks for our donation 

                            - Letter of thanks from Ladner Elementary for the toques we donated to them for their Quebec trip with a photo of the group in their new head attire 

Tail Twister - Lion Marilyn raffled a bottle of wine and collected around $40 for the club . Exact amount I did not hear - winner was not Roger Lasell or myself 


1. Guest speaker from The Little House Drug and Alcohol Addiction program could not attend due to inclement weather in Langley where they had to travel from.

2. Financial Report - moved that the Financial report as circulated by Harry Siempelkamp , seconded Roger Lasell be accepted - carried 

3. Community Donations Committee - moved by Roger Lasell that the club donate $3000 to the South Delta Meals on Wheels program, seconded Alan Calderwood . The motion is carried unanimously but because we do not have a quorum there has to be an electronic vote to approve. Lion Roger will follow up with a request to approve the motion electronically. Money to come from the Gaming Account 

4. H19 Convention - March 15/16 in Chilliwack. Looking for volunteers to attend the conference with club to pay for the expenses involved in attending - hotel expenses , registration fees and all meal costs to a total of $554.00 for one TBBL member + guest. - club gets two votes 

5. Nominations - Lions Murray and Gary are looking for volunteers to fill executive positions for the up and coming year . They will let the club know what positions are still open by next meeting 

6. Meal for next meeting - Monday, March 4 - Lion Rick and Lion Marilyn will provide the culinary delight for the evening 

7. Grauer Park work parties - signup sheets being passed around for signup.

A. Saturday, Feb 23 - Lions Kim , Gary , Dave Smith and Harry Siempelkamp volunteered for this Saturday 

B. Saturday , March 2 - signup sheet circulated for volunteers to sand poles for playground and notch the standing poles for climbing 

8. Round Table discussion - will be a regular item for Lions to bring up anything of interest or discussion - nothing at this time 

9. Good and Welfare of Members - nothing to report at this time 

10. Closing Story - no Walter Melnyk but Murray had a story for the members
